BioElectronics Clinical Studies: Menstrual Pain

Menstrual Pain Study

Primary Dysmenorrhea (menstrual pain), is a medical condition characterized by pain from contractions in the lower abdomen occurring at the onset of menstruation, in the absence of an identifiable pelvic disease. The Allay® device was tested as a therapy for menstrual pain in this clinical study, a double blind, placebo controlled study at two locations.

The mean pain level in the study group was significantly lower each day compared to the control group using the placebo device. Overall, during the 5 days of the study period the subjects in the study group experienced 43% less pain than those subjects in the control group.
